Welcome to the St Kilian's German School Website

St Kilian's German School (Deutsche Schule) is situated on the Eurocampus in Clonskeagh, South Dublin, adjacent to University College Dublin.

It shares facilities and, in the Junior Cycle of the secondary school, an educational project with  the Lycée Français d’Irlande (LFI). 

 

St Kilian's is a fee-paying primary and secondary school for children from 4 to 18 years of age.

St. Kilian's is recognised by the Irish Department of Education and prepares students for the Irish Junior and Leaving Certificate.

As a 'School of Encounter', it is also a member of the network of German Schools Abroad under the German Central Agency for Schools Abroad.         

The school has a bilingual or multi-lingual focus catering for students of German, Irish and other nationalities with particular interest in the German language and culture.

Eurocampus Signing Ceremony
 
On 22nd January 2008
(the 45th anniversary of the Franco-German Elysée Treaty)
attended by the their Excellencies, the Ambassadors,
and education officials from France and Germany
the Boards of Management of Lycée Français d’Irlande and Kilian's German School 
 signed the Agreement governing their future relationship.
 
According to this document, the Lycée is funding the building of an additional 16 classrooms.
All younger students are enrolled in a Joint Junior Cycle to sit the Junior Certificate examination together.
St. Kilian's provides the lab, sports and other facilities for the students on the campus
The Eurocampus is considered  to be a major step towards an education for young Europeans.
The Agreement shows that political decisions taken by national governments
do have an impact on the  on the lives  of ordinary people

Before the EU, co-operation like this would have been unthinkable.
