It has been a busy Easter break for Stefan Bonchev from 4B. Stefan, who is a member of Ireland’s national table-tennis squad, went to represent Ireland at the six Nations Primary Schools Table Tennis International Championships that took place between 31st of March – 2nd of April, 2023 in England. Together with 3 other compatriots, he competed for 3 days with boys’ and girls’ players under-13 from England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man. Team Ireland had an outstanding performance and got second to a very narrow win by England. In the individual event Stefan got third place. From England Stefan flew straight to the Czech Republic to participate in the 7-day European Table Tennis Union Eurotalent Selection Camp. The camp, that was attended by many talented kids from 13 European countries, finished with a tournament, where Stefan managed to get in the top 10. And only yesterday he celebrated another major win, securing Gold for the Leinster Team at the Interprovincial Table-tennis Championships. Stefan has also been nominated for the 2023 Colum Slevin Junior Player Award. Congratulations Stefan! Such amazing achievement.
