From May 18 to 25, our 5th class students travelled to the beautiful Allgäu region in southern Germany for an immersive language week at the Humboldt-Institut in Bad Schussenried – the largest boarding school in Germany specialising in German as a foreign language for children and teens.
Each morning, students took part in intensive German lessons in small groups. In the afternoons, they applied what they had learned in everyday situations – ordering ice cream, shopping at the local supermarket, or chatting with locals during fun and interactive city rallies.
Learning was just one part of the experience. The students also enjoyed a wide range of afternoon and evening activities: from sports and swimming to creative workshops and even German cooking classes.
Evenings were full of energy – with Let’s Dance, karaoke, movie night and a final disco night to celebrate the week together.
A special highlight was the full-day excursion to Füssen, with breathtaking views from the Marienbrücke and a private tour of Neuschwanstein Castle – followed by some well-earned shopping in the historic town centre.
