This year, we are once again delighted to host our exchange with the Kurt Tucholsky Primary School (KTG) from Berlin. From 9 to 18 May, six students came to Dublin and were warmly welcomed by our 6th class students.
The Berlin exchange students stayed with St. Kilian’s host families and enjoyed an eventful week together. On Monday, they travelled to Wexford, visited Hook Lighthouse and enjoyed a beach walk – with a few particularly brave ones even venturing into the waves!
On Tuesday, the group explored Dublin city centre, and on Wednesday and Friday, the Berlin students joined classes at St. Kilian’s to get a taste of Irish school life. They also took part in a discussion with our 5th Class DF students about school routines and differences between Ireland and Germany.
Another highlight was the trip to Airfield, where they joined a sustainability workshop and made their own butter – which was then shared during a joint lunch back at school.
It was a wonderful intercultural exchange, and we now wish our students an amazing time during their return visit to Berlin in July!
