On Tuesday, May 20th, 2025, we enjoyed a fantastic Awards Afternoon in the Astra Hall, UCD, where we came together to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students over the past academic year. This year saw the addition of two new awards across all year groups – the Values Award and the Contribution to School Life Award. Well done and congratulations to all students who received prizes and trophies in recognition of your hard work, dedication and involvement in school life. We were also proud to present the Helen Lennon and Connell Doris Perpetual Trophies to our Junior and Senior Sportspersons of the Year – awards named in honour of our late tennis coach and P.E. teacher.
A special moment of the afternoon was the farewell to our school secretary, Jacinta Kane, who is retiring after 21 years at St. Kilian’s. Our Head Boy and Head Girl, Bill and Maria, presented her with flowers and heartfelt words of appreciation on behalf of the students. Thank you, Jacinta, for everything!
The event also marked the election of our new Heads of the Student Council with six fantastic candidates in the running. Congratulations to Ronan and Thibaut on their election, and a huge thank you to outgoing Heads, Bill and Maria, for their fantastic work.
Finally, a special thanks to our talented student musicians for their wonderful musical contributions and to Ms McCrea and everyone involved in the organisation.
