This year, St. Kilian’s Primary School and Kindergarten children marked Kindness Week with a series of kind and fun filled activities during the week 15th-19th September 2025. We have picked the Giraffe as our symbol this year as Giraffes have the largest heart of any land mammal, which is used as a metaphor for having a large capacity for love, compassion and resilience. The children could bring in their own versions of the giraffe ranging from soft toys to drawings. Each day we also focused on a different theme around Kindness: from sharing kindness quotes to giving compliments, helping others, promoting inclusion, and saying thank you.
Another highlight was Reuben’s Show where students learned about bullying through comedy. Reuben delivered an important message in a fun, engaging way: be an Upstander, not a Bystander. Thank you, Reuben, for a morning full of laughter and learning!
The celebration cumulated in a Kindness Assembly during which Kindness Certificates were awarded and the perpetual Kindness Cup was presented. Congratulations to Alec from Class 2A on winning this year’s Kindness Cup and to all children who received a Kindness Certificate. Well done to all involved for a week full of acts around kindness.
