Today, on Tuesday 9th of December 2025, we held the final round of our second in-school reading competition which Class winners from Classes 6 and 7 across all German groups participating. The class finalists presented excerpts from their favourite books and tackled unfamiliar German texts with confidence and enthusiasm. It was not an easy task for the jury to select one DF Class school winner and one Sek I Class school winner. We wish to congratulate this year’s winners: Oisín (7D) and Cara (6A). A special congratulations goes to Cara, who has also been chosen as the overall school champion and will go on to represent our school in the international reading competition for German schools abroad (Vorlesewettbewerb für Deutsche Auslandsschulen) in the coming year.
This international competition, with schools from around the globe participating, promotes reading across borders and encourages students to develop their literacy skills while sharing their love of literature on a global stage. We are proud to once again be part of this competition. Congratulations to all winners, and the very best of luck to Cara for the international final.
