On Tuesday evening, 19 May 2026, we bid a fond farewell to the Class of 2026 in UCD’s Astra Hall. It was a wonderful occasion as family members, friends, school management, teachers and past pupils gathered together to celebrate the graduates of 2026 and to wish them every success as they begin an exciting new chapter in their lives.
The celebrations began earlier that morning with one of our wonderful traditions. The Kindergarten children presented flowers to the graduates in the Shamrock Hall followed by a dance to one of their favourite songs ‘Die Maus auf Weltraumreise’.
The official ceremony took place in the evening and was filled with heartfelt speeches, the presentation of awards and subject prizes, unforgettable memories, and fantastic musical performances by our talented 12th class music students.
As keynote speaker this year we were delighted to welcome Mr Julian Eberle, a former pupil (Class of 2010) and Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Output Sports. In his congratulative address, he shared fond memories of his time at St. Kilian’s and encouraged Class of 2026 to embrace new opportunities and experiences: ‘(…) make plans, but also leave enough space for things that matter a lot more, things that make you feel like yourself even when they don’t fit into the bigger picture.’
We would also like to extend out thanks to Ms McCrea for organising such a wonderful evening, and to our Head boys 2025-2026, Thibaut and Ronan, for their emotional speeches and for all their work and contribution to the school.
Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We wish you best of luck in your final exams and every success in the future. To conclude with the words of Mr Macmillan during his address: ‘…don’t worry if you haven’t figured it out yet. Success in life is not about money or points or status; it comes more from connection, contribution, creativity and community. Find the people, the places and the passions that resonate with you. Stay curious, stay kind and stay connected to what matters. Your story hasn’t been written yet, but wherever life takes you next, remember that St. Kilian’s will always be part of your story’.
