To mark French-German Friendship Day 2026, students from the joint EU/Model United Nations Club of St. Kilian’s and the Lycée Français International Samuel Beckett (LFI) enjoyed the privilege of an inspiring visit to the German Ambassador’s Residence yesterday.
During the visit, students had the opportunity to speak about their joint projects within the EU/MuN Club, including the Élysée Treaty debate and their Model European Council events. A highlight of the visit was a lively Q&A session with H.E. French Ambassador Céline Place and German Deputy Ambassador Mr von Heynitz, held in the presence of both cultural attachés and the principals of both schools. Students had the opportunity to ask a series of questions about the French-German friendship, current European challenges, and the ambassador’s roles and responsibilities as diplomats in Ireland representing France and Germany.
It was a memorable visit, offering valuable insights and takeaways for our future diplomats here at the Eurocampus Dublin. Our heartfelt thanks go to the German Embassy for its hospitality, and to H.E. Céline Place and Mr von Heynitz for generously sharing their time, expertise, values, and perspectives.
Well done to all participating students, especially to our speakers and interview hosts, who you all did an outstanding job representing the EU/MuN Club.
