The Stripe Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition (YSTE) 2026 is officially underway, featuring 550 finalist projects from students across Ireland. We are delighted to see St. Kilian’s German School Dublin represented once again at this prestigious event.
This year, we have Jacob from Class 10A who is showcasing his project “Alleviating Pronunciation Difficulties for English Learners” in the Social & Behavioural Sciences category. Jacob’s research explores the hypothesis that “speakers of languages from the same families, are going to struggle with the same sounds when learning English”. Through his investigation, he successfully identified specific pronunciation challenges faced by non-native speakers, insights that could serve as a valuable resource for teachers of English as a foreign language – an impressive and highly relevant project.
Over 4 days, Jacob is busy meeting judges and visitors, including our TY students. A big thank you to Regina Doherty MEP, Sinéad Gibney TD, Shay Brennan TD and Maeve O’Connell TD, who also took the time to speak with Jacob about his project.
We are also proud to see Soča from Class 11A, who is promoting mathematics in collaboration with the Irish Mathematical Trust at the exhibition. We wish both Jacob and Soča the very best of luck and commend them on their hard work and dedication. For anyone interested in visiting the exhibition, Jacob can be found at Stand 3224, while Soča is located at the Irish Mathematical Trust stand.
We extend our best wishes to all students participating in YSTE 2026 and look forward to the Awards Ceremony tomorrow afternoon, Friday, 9 January.
