Class 5B have been learning about mythology and early Gaelic Society, culminating in the creation of their own beautifully designed storybooks inspired by ‘The Boyhood of Fionn McCumhall’. As part of this project, the children explored the legend of one of Ireland’s greatest mythological characters, Fionn McCumhall, who was known for having infinite knowledge and wisdom as well as being an outstanding warrior. This story brings to life his early childhood adventures, including tasting the Salmon of Knowledge, and defeating the Tuatha Dé Danann character Aillen mac Midna, thereby becoming leader of the Fianna, the most illustrious royal warrior band to the King of Tara.
The children invested great creativity and effort into writing, designing, reading and recording their stories, and they are extremely proud to share their finished books with family and friends.
Congratulations to all of Class 5B on their impressive work, and to their teacher, Ms Weatherford, for guiding and supporting this wonderful project.
