A highlight of last week was our annual Primary School and Kindergarten Mini Marathon. On Thursday, 4th of June 2026, children from Kindergarten to 6th Class took part in competitive laps around the Hockey pitch – all in support of Wicklow Hospice. The younger children completed one loop, while the older students took on two loops. It was a great morning with energy, excitement, lots of fun and cheers. Congratulations to all our fantastic runners, to the medal winners including the cup winners from 6th class, and to teachers who enthusiastically join in, some even running multiple races alongside the students.
After the run, everyone enjoyed a well-deserved Teddy’s Ice cream treat to cool off. A huge thank you to everyone who donated and helped support Wicklow Hospice – such a worthy cause. In the course of both mini marathons, the VHI Mini Marathon on Sunday 31st of May and the school’s marathon, we were able to raise an incredible almost €5,000 for Wicklow Hospice. We will hand over the cheque to a member from Wicklow Hospice next week during our Sports Assembly. Donations will be open until June 15th for everyone who still wishes to donate: https://www.idonate.ie/fundraiser/StKiliansLFI. Many thanks to everyone, and to Ms Collins and the P.E. Department for organising such a special event.
